3 Steps

How to Create a Google Review Link

1

Get your Place ID

Open Google’s free Place ID Finder, search for your business name, and select it from the list. Copy the code that starts with ChIJ — that’s your business’s unique ID on Google. Open the Place ID Finder

2

Paste it into the box above

Drop the Place ID into the tool. Your review link is built instantly — optionally add your business name to put initials in the center of the QR code.

3

Use the link and QR code

Copy the link to share over WhatsApp, SMS, email, or an invoice; download the QR code and print it for your counter, table, or receipt. Customers leave a review in one tap.

Use Cases

Who It’s For

Restaurants, Cafés & Bars

Put the QR on the table or the bill. A happy customer taps it on the way out and leaves their stars. Your review count and average rating climb noticeably within weeks.

Hotels & Hospitality

Place the QR at check-out or on the in-room card. Guests review while the stay is fresh — strengthening your Google profile alongside TripAdvisor.

Clinics, Barbers, Salons

Show the code at reception when the service ends. Review count and freshness are among the strongest signals for ranking in “near me” local searches.

Service & Field Businesses

Plumbers, electricians, movers — send the link over WhatsApp once the job is done. Tapping a link while still happy converts far more often than “I’ll do it later.” our free QR code generator can customize and download the code.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Google review link, and why use a direct one?

A Google review link takes a customer straight to the “write a review” screen on your Google profile. Just telling a customer to “search for us on Google” means four to six steps: searching, finding the right listing, scrolling to reviews, tapping “Write a review,” signing in. Every step loses people. A direct link cuts it to one tap and meaningfully raises the completion rate.

How do I find my Place ID?

Open Google’s free Place ID Finder, type your business name into the search box above the map, and select the right listing. The code starting with ChIJ appears on screen — copy it and paste it into the tool above. Your business needs a verified Google Business Profile; if you don’t have one yet, create and verify it first.

Is this tool really free? Any catch later?

Completely free. You get the Place ID from Google’s free finder, and we build the link and QR code directly in your browser — no paid API in between. No signup, no watermark, and you can use the QR code commercially.

Can I paste the link I copied from Google Maps?

Unfortunately not. The Google Maps “Share” link doesn’t contain the Place ID — it carries a different identifier (a CID) that can’t be turned into a direct review-form link. For the true one-tap experience you need the real Place ID starting with ChIJ, which you get from the free Place ID Finder above.

Is asking customers for reviews against Google’s rules?

Asking customers for reviews is perfectly normal — Google openly encourages it, and sharing a direct review link is a recommended method. What’s against the rules is offering discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews, posting fake reviews, or steering only happy customers to review while blocking unhappy ones (“review gating”). This tool does none of that: everyone gets the same link, and whether to leave a review is the customer’s choice.

Will my review count actually go up? What should I expect?

The link isn’t the only variable — ease and timing of the ask matter just as much. The best results come from asking while the experience is fresh: showing the QR right after the service, or sending the link over WhatsApp once a job is done. Put the code somewhere visible, add a clear prompt (“Review us on Google”), and make showing it a staff habit. The link removes the friction; consistent asking brings the volume.

Can I hide the bad reviews I get?

Business owners can’t delete or hide Google reviews — you can only respond to them or request removal of ones that break Google’s policies. The sensible strategy isn’t hiding a bad review but catching the problem before it gets there: alongside the public Google review link, also give an unhappy customer a private way to reach you directly. The key is never hiding the public review path from anyone.
